Polvoron means "dust" in Spanish. It is a powdered milk candy, that is said to have started during the American occupation to use up the huge amount of powered milk they brought into the country. Polvoron over the years has become one of the most loved sweet Filipino delicacy. Today, Polvoron is one of the country's all-time favorite "pasalubong!"

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour 3/4 cups sugar 1 cup Nido powdered whole milk 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 cup melted butter |
How to make:
Over moderate heat, toast flour until light brown, stirring constantly. Remove from fire and cool. Transfer toasted flour to a mixing bowl. Add sugar, powdered milk, vanilla and butter. Mix well and mold to wrap. |
