If you are looking for a rewarding experience, this is for you!
As you know, the absolute best way to learn any language is to live in the country. No matter how much you study either on your own--with a computer program, or even with me--the best way to really push your fluency to the next level is to be there. Well, the same goes with learning Tagalog. I know when we go to the Philippines we like to stay with family and friends, but how frustrating is it that when you go to the Philippines with the intent of getting immersed in the language, you find out that everyone speaks to you in English!
No matter how much you ask them not to talk to you in English, they do it anyway!
EVEN WHEN THEY KNOW YOU REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to learn Tagalog.
But who can blame them? It is just easier for them!
Therefore, merely going to the Philippines and staying with family or the hotel is not enough.

Proceeds from the classes go towards feeding street children in the area of (former) Clark Air Base in Angeles City, Philippines.
We also serve as a host to volunteers who want to not only explore the country, but also want to experience and be a part of the community. Many needy Amerasian children are legacies of U.S. presence in Philippines Stars And Stripes By Carlos Bongioanni ANGELES CITY, Philippines — Caroline Ladrillo was born and abandoned in a grassy field just outside the main entrance of the former Clark Air Base ten years ago. She is the product of an American servicemember and a Filipina sex worker from an off-base go-go bar. Thousands of Amerasian children like Caroline — some with no parents, others with one — languish in the communities surrounding Clark and other installations as one of the legacies of the U.S. military’s presence in the Philippines.
